OCT: Sat, June 14, James River in Richmond
We will paddle the upper and lower sections of the James from Pony Pasture to Reedy Creek (upper, novice class I-II rapids) and from Reedy to 14th St (lower, intermediate, class III-IV rapids). Option to take out at Reedy if you only want to paddle the upper section. Level is forecast to be ~ 4.8 ft on Westham gauge.
We will meet at 10 a.m. at 14th St - upper paved lot b/c the usual take-out is closed for maintenance. Let me know no later than Friday morning if you plan to join us. Please indicate which section(s) you would like to paddle (upper only or both).

Re: OCT: Sat, June 14, James River in Richmond
Jenny can correct me, but I think:
We are meeting at 351 S 14th St, Richmond, VA 23219. The 14th street whitewater takeout. There's a lower gravel lot that's closed for construction where we normally neet. The lower lot is kind of hidden down a side road.
There is a more obvious paved lot at that address. We are meeting in the paved lot tomorrow. I'll be driving a blue RAV4 with a big green boat on top. You can keep an eye out for me.

Re: OCT: Sat, June 14, James River in Richmond
The address of the take-out is 325 S 14th St, RVA. Dan, it is indeed the paved lot, as they are working in the gravel lot and it is closed. The paved lot is shared by a rafting company. Please do not park in spaces marked for their customers.
From Charlottesville: take I-64 east to I-95 south (the two interstates merge for a bit near RVA). Stay on I-95 south when I-64 veers off east again. On I-95, cross the James River. Take the first exit after you cross the river onto Maury St. Turn right on Maury St at the end of the ramp. Turn left on 2nd St (or actually any of the streets after you're on Maury). Go straight a few blocks until you reach 14th St (aka Rt 360). Turn right on Rt 360. Start across the river again. Just before you reach the flood wall on the north side of the river, there is a paved parking lot on the right. That is where we are meeting at 10 am.
