Update: No Branch Potomac Whitewater Release

Post by Katherine »

The third whitewater release from Jennings Randolph Lake for 2026 is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, May 2nd and 3rd. The release is scheduled to be 1,000 cfs from 10am to 4pm each day.

However, please note that due to the lack of rainfall over the past few weeks in addition to low predicted rainfall amounts for the next week, it is possible that the release for Sunday, May 3rd, may need to be cancelled. A final decision on cancellation for Sunday will be made by Wednesday, April 29th.

4/29 Update: No Branch Potomac Whitewater Release 5/2 only

Post by Katherine »

Conditions have not improved sufficiently enough to support both days of releases for this weekend, and unfortunately the Sunday, May 3rd, release is being cancelled. The release for Saturday, May 2nd, will be held as scheduled.

The next weekend of whitewater releases from Jennings Randolph Lake is scheduled for May 16th & 17th, 2026 with a release of 1,000 cfs from 10am to 4pm each day. Please note that the releases for May 16th and 17th are also at risk for possible cancellation if conditions do not improve.
